Server Security & Monitoring

Locked Down. Watched Around the Clock.

Hardening, patching and continuous monitoring that stop most attacks, and a clear response plan for the ones that get through.

  • Edge & DNSWAF · DDoS filtering
  • FirewallCSF · nftables · geo rules
  • AccessSSH keys · MFA · fail2ban/LFD
  • Operating systempatched · CIS-style hardening
  • Dataencrypted · off-site backups

03:12:40blocked 1,284 SSH attempts · 41 IPs

03:14:02malware signature in /uploads · quarantined

03:20:15kernel patch applied · reboot scheduled

Illustrative example.

Fewer Ways In.

Every managed server gets a hardening pass during onboarding, and we keep it that way.

Access

  • SSH keys only, root login off
  • MFA on control panels
  • Brute-force blocking (CSF/LFD, fail2ban)
  • Least-privilege user accounts

System

  • Firewall with default deny
  • Unused services removed
  • Kernel and package patching
  • Secure PHP and web server settings

Monitoring

What We Watch, Every Minute.

  • Availability

Services, ports, HTTP status and response times.

  • Resources

CPU, memory, disk, inodes and I/O trends.

  • Logins

Failed and unusual SSH and panel logins.

  • Malware

Scheduled scans of web roots and uploads.

  • Network

Unexpected open ports and outbound spikes.

  • Integrity

Changes to system binaries and key config files.

Incident response

When Something Gets Through.

A practiced, five-step process, documented in your ticket from start to finish.

  1. 01

    Detect

An alert or report reaches an engineer, who confirms what is happening.

  2. 02

    Contain

Affected accounts, IPs or services are isolated to stop the spread.

  3. 03

    Investigate

Logs and files are reviewed to find the entry point and impact.

  4. 04

    Recover

Clean files or backups are restored and the hole is closed.

  5. 05

    Report

You get a written summary of cause, actions and next steps.

Security Questions.

Short answers to what we are asked most. For anything specific, an engineer will reply directly.

Will hardening break my applications?
We test changes and roll them out in stages, starting with the lowest-risk items. Anything that could affect your apps is agreed with you first.
How often are servers patched?
On an agreed schedule, usually weekly. Critical vulnerabilities that are being actively exploited are handled as urgent.
Do you run vulnerability scans?
Yes. Regular scans of packages and exposed services, with findings ranked by severity and fixed in order.
What if my server is already compromised?
Contact us straight away. We contain the incident, find how the attacker got in, clean or rebuild the server and harden it so it does not happen again.
Is this a replacement for a compliance audit?
No. It is ongoing operational security for your servers. We can support audits with evidence of patching, access control and monitoring.

Close the Gaps Before Someone Finds Them.

Ask for a security review of your servers. We will send back a ranked list of what to fix.
